Harrisburg – Six new Republican state senators, as well as 12 re-elected members, were sworn into office on Tuesday, January 6. Senator Joe Scarnati (R-25) was nominated to again serve as President Pro Tempore of the State Senate for the 2015-2016 Legislative session. Voters gave Senate Republicans a 30-20 majority in the fall election.
The following new senators are joining the Senate GOP Caucus:
Ryan Aument – 36th Senatorial District
Camera Bartolotta – 46th Senatorial District
Michele Brooks – 50th Senatorial District
Tom McGarrigle – 26th Senatorial District
Mario Scavello – 40th Senatorial District
Pat Stefano – 32nd Senatorial District
The following GOP senators were re-elected by voters on November 4:
Lisa Baker – 20th Senatorial District
Pat Browne – 16th Senatorial District
Jake Corman – 34th Senatorial District
John Eichelberger – 30th Senatorial District
Mike Folmer – 48th Senatorial District
Stewart Greenleaf – 12th Senatorial District
Chuck McIlhinney – 10th Senatorial District
Bob Mensch – 24th Senatorial District
John Rafferty – 44th Senatorial District
Tommy Tomlinson – 6th Senatorial District
Randy Vulakovich – 38th Senatorial District
Scott Wagner – 28th Senatorial District
Voters gave Senate Republicans a 30-20 majority in the fall election.
