“DON’T MISS YOUR MAMMOGRAM!” PBCC, PA Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward, Fox Chase Cancer Center to Announce FREE Mammogram Event, Stress Importance of Early Detection

WHAT:     The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC), together with Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward (R-39) and Fox Chase Cancer Center, a part of the Temple University Health System, will host a news conference urging women to schedule mammograms – screenings that could save their lives. The initiative kicks off Tuesday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Fox Chase Cancer Center to cover the following topics:

  • Importance of scheduling mammograms missed during COVID-19 pandemic
  • Announcement of Get Your Mammogram event
    • Friday, April 1
    • Future site of Temple Health’s women’s hospital (Mammograms offered inside Fox Chase Cancer Center Mobile Screening Unit, in collaboration with Flyers Charities)
    • All screening mammograms will be provided at no cost to women
    • All women screened will receive $25 Walmart gift cards courtesy of the PBCC
    • Mammograms will be offered as part of a broader health fair that includes additional women’s health focused screenings and information.

 11:00 a.m. – Speaking program begins
