The Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee and the House Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee will hold a joint public hearing at the State Fire Academy, 1150 Riverside Drive, Lewistown, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, to receive an update on the progress of the Resolution 6 Commission, according to committee chairmen Senator Randy Vulakovich and Representative Steve Barrar.
The Committees will hear from the Senate Resolution 6 Subcommittee chairs (EMS, Government Support, Innovation, Recruiting & Retention, Regulation & Codes, and Training & Operations) on the issues that they are considering in the Final Report, which will be submitted to the committees by November 30th.
The 39-member Senate Resolution 6 Commission, made up of legislators, first responders and representatives from municipalities, is charged with studying issues currently affecting first responders.
