State Senators Announce SEPTA Express Trains Restored for Eagles Home Opener

Harrisburg, PA – Senators Frank Farry (R-6), Tracy Pennycuick (R-24), and Joe Picozzi (R-5) are pleased to announce that SEPTA’s special express trains will run for the Eagles home opener tomorrow night, September 4. SEPTA and the Philadelphia Eagles were able to secure a sponsorship deal with FanDuel to cover the costs.

SEPTA originally planned to cancel its popular sports express train service as part of the first phase of its service cuts. If a deal had not been reached, the Senators secured Uber as an alternate sponsor to cover the operating costs to ensure safe, reliable service for fans.

“As Democrats continue with press conferences and publicity stunts, we remain focused on real solutions for riders and fans,” the Senators said. “While we work towards a long-term funding solution for SEPTA, at least for the immediate future, fans will have access to express trains and can hopefully enjoy a Philadelphia Eagles win without disruption.”

The Senators thank SEPTA and the Philadelphia Eagles for working to resolve this issue, ensuring the trains will operate efficiently, easing traffic congestion and providing reliable transportation for thousands of Eagles fans. They also thank FanDuel for sponsoring the service and Uber for stepping up as a willing partner to ensure fans could get to the game safely.
