
HARRISBURG – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert C. Wonderling to the Governor’s Council on Aging. Sen. Pennycuick nominated Mr. Wonderling for the position. Mr. Wonderling previously represented the 24th Pennsylvania Senatorial District from 2003 to 2009.
“Rob’s unique experience in both the public and private sectors make him an ideal person to serve on the Governor’s Council on Aging,” said Pennycuick. “He will be an excellent advocate for older Pennsylvania’s and wisely advise the Administration on aging issues.”
Since 2022, he has served as the Executive Director of the American Bible Society’s Faith and Liberty Initiative. In addition, Mr. Wonderling served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia from 2009 to 2022, a business advocacy organization of member companies that promotes growth and economic development in the 11-county Greater Philadelphia region.

Mr. Wonderling also served in the executive branch of state government administration as Deputy Secretary of Transportation. Additionally, he serves on the boards of numerous businesses and non-profit organizations within the Philadelphia region. Mr. Wonderling previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ursinus College. In addition to his public service, Mr. Wonderling worked for Lehigh Valley-based Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. He also served as an Executive Officer for Bentley Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSY), a software company in Exton, Pennsylvania.
Members of the Pennsylvania Council on Aging serve staggered three-year terms and continue to serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. Members can serve a maximum of two consecutive full terms.
