Meeting to consider SB 1083 and SB 1162
SB 1083 (Baker) – Amends the Unemployment Compensation Law to provide that the spouse of an active-duty member of the Armed Forces shall not be disqualified from unemployment compensation eligibility for voluntarily leaving employment if the voluntary quit was the result of having to relocate due to permanent change of station, activation orders, or deployment orders, and such relocation would make it impractical or unreasonably difficult for the military spouse to continue employment with their employer.
SB 1162 (Bartolotta/Tartaglione) – Creates a free-standing PennSERVE Act, establishing the Office of PennSERVE and the PennSERVE Advisory Board, and repeals Article XXII-B of the Administrative Code where those entities are currently established.
