Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) recognizes statewide Breast Cancer Awareness Month by turning the State Capitol East Wing Fountain pink.

The pink fountain serves as a site to honor breast cancer survivors and thrivers living in Pennsylvania, a place of remembrance for those we have lost to breast cancer, a reminder for all women across to schedule annual mammograms, and a sign of support for breast cancer researchers working to find a cure. According to the PA Department of Health, 38 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Pennsylvania. When detected at its earliest stages, the 5-year survival rate for breast cancer is over 90%.
