Extends the sunset of this provision from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2027. PASSED 50-0.
SB 302 (BAKER) Amends Title 23 (Domestic Relations) to clarify $25 of the $100 surcharge assessed against a defendant for the service of a Protection From Abuse petition or order will be distributed to the sheriff or the law enforcement agency that served the defendant the petition or order. SB 89 (MASTRIANO) Amends the Overdose Mapping Act to require Emergency Management Service (EMS) providers that encounter a known or suspected overdose to access an information technology platform to report and document the incident within 72 hours. Directs the Department of Health to coordinate with the Pennsylvania State Police to ensure overdose data is promptly transferred into the Overdose Information Network (ODIN) from any information technology platform used by EMS providers other than the ODIN. PASSED 49-0.
SB 411 (VOGEL) Amends the Stroke System of Care Act to require the Department of Health to provide access to a statewide, nationally recognized, evidence-based stroke care registry for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers, hospital stroke teams, and other health care professionals. Requires comprehensive stroke centers, thrombectomy-capable stroke centers, primary stroke centers, and acute stroke-ready hospitals to submit stroke care data to the Department twice a year for inclusion in the registry, as determined by the Secretary of Health and as aligned with consensus metrics developed by the American Heart Association. Requires the same facilities to provide the Department with access to related records as needed to conduct case findings or other quality improvement audits to ensure data completeness and accuracy. Authorizes the Department to contract with a nationally recognized, evidence-based organization for receipt, storage, updating, or maintenance of registry data, and to enter into reciprocal reporting agreements with agencies in other states for exchange of stroke care data. PASSED 49-0.
