SB 184 (PICOZZI) Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1985 to exempt foreign physicians licensed in good standing from state licensure requirements when they have an agreement with a sports team to provide care to the team members or coaching staff while in the Commonwealth or they have been invited by a national sport governing body to provide team services. Increases the maximum licensure exemption period for out-of-state visiting team physicians from up to 30 day to 45 days and sets the exemption period for foreign visiting team physicians to 45 days, with the ability of a waiver to be granted by the State Board of Medicine for longer. PASSED 49-0.
SB 153 (BROOKS) Amends the Unemployment Compensation Law to clarify claimants may not continue to receive UC benefits if they intentionally take certain actions to unreasonably discourage their own hire. Requires the Department of Labor & Industry to create or update forms to facilitate employer reporting of instances where a claimant acts to discourage their own hire. PASSED 29-20.
SB 155 (ARGALL) Amends the Human Services Code to require the Department of Human Services to compare death records from the Bureau of Vital Statistics against Medical Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program records monthly. PASSED 30-19.
SB 156 (ARGALL) Amends the Human Services Code to require the Department of Human Services to compare income and employment records against Medical Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program records quarterly. PASSED 30-19.
SB 157 (ARGALL) Amends the Human Services Code to require the Department of Human Services to submit an annual report to legislative committees with information of how lottery winnings are counted for all forms of cash assistance; details pertaining to exempted vehicles; details of average equity value of vehicles counted as resources for recipients; details of replacement access devices; details of recipient attempts to make unauthorized purchases; changes in reports from previous years; and any recommendations to improve the report. PASSED 29-20.
