Senate Resolution 163 (McIlhinney) designates Monday, September 24, 2007
as "Family Day-A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children 2007" in
Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 174 (Wozniak) designates the week of September 23
through 30, 2007 as "University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Week" in
Pennsylvania in recognition of its 80th anniversary of providing higher
education in western Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 175 (Waugh) observes the month of September 2007 as
"National Preparedness Month" in Pennsylvania and urges the residents of the
Commonwealth to take advantage of initiatives which show individuals how to
create emergency kits, make a family emergency plan, become informed about
different threats and get involved in preparing their communities for
emergencies. Adopted by Voice Vote.

Senate Bill 490 (Browne) would amend Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial
Procedure) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to require sex
offenders to register their online identity, including their electronic mail
address and instant messaging screen names, with the Pennsylvania State
Police, in addition to the information they are currently required to
provide. Individuals required to provide this information would have to
notify the State Police of any changes in this information within 48 hours.
The bill would also require the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole,
in cooperation with the Department of Corrections, to obtain this
information for transmission to the State Police. Passed: 47-0.
Senate Resolution 161 (Tomlinson) designates the month of October 2007
as "Agent Orange Recognition Month" in Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 176
(Mellow) designates the week of September 30
through October 6, 2007 as "Latex Allergy Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania.
Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 177 (Fontana) recognizes September 2007 as "Infant
Mortality Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 178 (Piccola) declares October 17, 2007 as "Harrisburg
FIRST Robotics Day" in Pennsylvania. The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition
of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition is a nationwide engineering
contest that teams high school students from more than 30 states with engineers
from businesses and universities. The Harrisburg FIRST Robotics program will
begin on October 17, 2007. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 179 (Piccola) recognizes the week of October 7 through 13,
2007 as "National Newspaper Week" in Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 180 (Piccola) declares September 25, 2007 as
"International Ataxia Awareness Day" in Pennsylvania. Ataxia is an often fatal
degenerative neurological disorder that causes slow, progressive deterioration
of nerve cells in the spinal cord and cerebellum, affecting balance,
coordination and speech. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 181 (Piccola) designates October 2007 as "Rett Syndrome
Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania. Rett syndrome is a neurological disorder that
occurs almost exclusively in girls. Adopted by Voice Vote.
Senate Resolution 182 (Piccola) designates October 13, 2007 as "Military
Family Day" in Pennsylvania. Adopted by Voice Vote.
