Senate Majority Policy Committee to Hold Hearing on Eminent
Domain Issues
HARRISBURG -- The
Senate Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on
“Eminent
Domain issues after the Kelo Decision"
tomorrow on Tue., Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12
noon in Room 461 at the state Capitol, according to Senator Joe Conti (R-10),
who chairs the committee.
Scheduled to testify are: Sen.
Jeff Piccola; Dana Berliner, Senior Attorney, Institute for Justice; Kevin
Shivers, State Director, National Federation of Independent Business; Lou
Biacchi, Director of Governmental Affairs, Pennsylvania Builders Association;
Scott Mahan, “Save Ardmore”; Richard J. Schuettler, Deputy Executive Director,
and Amy Sturges, Director of Governmental Affairs, Pennsylvania League of Cities
and Municipalities; Chris Houston, Director of Real Estate Development/General
Counsel, Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Cumberland County; William F.
Keller, Herbert E. Wetzel, Executive Director and Robert Guerra, General
Counsel, Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority; Brenda Shambaugh, Legislative
Director, Pennsylvania State Grange and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau; Elam Herr,
Assistant Executive Director, Pennsylvania State Association of Township
