Senate Judiciary Committee to Hold Pittsburgh Hearing on Jury Reform
HARRISBURG -- The
Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee will conduct a hearing on Senate Bill
668, a measure aimed at bringing more diversity to the jury pool, and other jury
reform proposals on Monday, October 3, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. in the William Pitt
Union of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
Senate Bill 668 is sponsored by Sen. Jay Costa,
D-Allegheny. The following witnesses are scheduled to present testimony: G.
Thomas Munsterman, Principal Court Management Consultant, National Center for
State Courts; Lynn A. Marks, Executive Director, Pennsylvanians for Modern
Courts; the Hon. Joseph M. James, President Judge, Allegheny County Court of
Common Pleas; Raymond L. Billotte, Court Administrator, Allegheny County Court
of Common Pleas; and David L. Hostetter, Executive Director, Joint State
Government Commission.
