Piccola to Advocate for "Single Sales Factor"
HARRISBURG -- Joined
by Pennsylvania companies advocating for tax reductions as part of the state
budget’s climate to protect jobs and stimulate economic growth, Senate Majority
Whip Jeff Piccola (R-15) will hold a press conference on Wednesday, June 22nd at
10 a.m. in the Capitol Media Center to promote the inclusion of his proposal a
“Single Sales Factor” in the passage of the budget.
Several states currently tax
sales only, which benefits companies that make a commitment (property and
payroll) to a state. A full “Single Sales Tax Factor” would make Pennsylvania
more competitive with other states.
Members from the Senate and
representatives from businesses around the state will be joining Piccola
including Joseph Cottonaro, Senior Director of Taxes at The Hershey Company, and
Kirk Liddell, President & CEO of The Irex Corporation and First Vice Chair of
the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and several other
organizations supporting this legislation.
