Senator Greenleaf Announces
Public Hearing on House Eco-Terrorism Proposal
The Senate
Judiciary Committee will conduct a public hearing on House
Bill 213, a measure sponsored by Rep. Robert W. Godshall to
establish penalties for crimes of eco-terrorism, beginning
at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, in Room 8E-B of the Capitol
Building East Wing.
Witnesses will
include Michael Hsu, a Bucks County resident whose
property—a flower farm and proposed site of a primate
kennel-- was recently vandalized; John S. Ellis, Ph.D.,
Executive Director, PA Society for Biomedical Research; John
C. Eckenrode, Special Agent In Charge, FBI, Philadelphia;
Heidi Prescott, Senior Vice President, The Humane Society of
the US; Mary F. Hanley, Executive Vice President, National
Association for Biomedical Research; Johnna Seeton,
Pennsylvania Humane Society Officer and Board Member of the
PA Legislative Animal Network; Michael Moyer, VMD, Immediate
Past President and Legislative Committee Chair, PA
Veterinary Medical Association; Larry Frankel, Legislative
Director, American Civil Liberties Union of PA; Robert
