Sen. Don White Supports Military Aid Effort
Veterans Affairs Chairman expects Senate review of measure
HARRISBURG -- State Senator Don White, R-41st District and Chairman of
the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, supported the
efforts by the House today to move a series of military assistance bills.
The bi-partisan legislative package unveiled by
House Speaker John Perzel includes measures to help soldiers with everything
from family relief to college education assistance and extended-paid leave.
“This effort is certainly
laudable, just as is any effort we undertake to assist our military families,”
Senator White said. “I expect that the Senate will take a hard look at the
measures in this legislative package. We support our men and women in uniform
and there is genuine bi-partisan interest in ensuring that the members of our
National Guard and Air National Guard and their families receive appropriate
compensation and benefits for their service and sacrifice.”
