Senate Banking & Insurance Committee to Hear
Testimony
on Blues' Surplus Agreement
HARRISBURG -- The
Senate Banking and Insurance Committee will hold a public hearing on Tuesday,
April 12 at 10:30 a.m. in Senate Hearing Room 1 in the North Office Building.
The Committee will hear testimony regarding the Community Health Reinvestment
Program (CHRP), also known as the Blues’ Surplus Agreement.
The committee is chaired by Sen. Gibson E. Armstrong (R-Lancaster/York), who
said the hearing will address the specific statutory authority through which the
Insurance Department entered into the CHRP, how the agreement was derived, and
how it will be implemented.
Witnesses expected to testify include Health Care Reform Director Rosemarie
Greco, Insurance Commissioner Diane Koken, Deputy Insurance Commissioner
Patricia Stromberg, Insurance Department Chief Counsel Steven Davis, and
Rendell’s Deputy Chief of Staff Dave Myers.
