Communications & Technology Committee Plans Hearing
on Sci Tech High School Model
HARRISBURG -- There
will be a Senate Communications and Technology Committee hearing on Wednesday,
March 23, 2005 beginning at 10 a.m. in Room 203 of the SciTech High School at
215 Market Street in Harrisburg. There will be a short tour of the school prior
to the start of the hearing.
SciTech High is a collaborative
venture between the Harrisburg School District and the newly created Harrisburg
University of Science and Technology. The mission of this innovative
education model is to prepare students for careers in technology-based
industries and transition students to post-secondary education studies in
science and technology.
The focus of the hearing will
be to showcase the work of SciTech High and Harrisburg University of Science and
Technology to create a productive learning environment for students, integrate
our education system with the workforce needs of the business community and the
application of technology tools to educate our children.
