Committee to Hold Public Hearing on State
Stores Privatization
Monday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., 8E-B Capitol East Wing
Harrisburg - The Senate Law and Justice Committee, chaired by Sen. John Pippy (R-37), on Feb. 14 will hold the
first in a series of public hearings on privatizing Pennsylvania liquor sales.
The hearing will be held Monday, Feb. 14 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. in 8E-B of the Capitol's East Wing.
The committee will not be discussing a specific bill. The purpose of the hearing is to explore the general
topic of privatizing liquor sales, reviewing the practice of others states, and
other facets of the issue.
Expected to testify are representatives of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, Reason
Foundation, the Commonwealth Foundation, and Pacific Institute for Research and
Evaluation.
