Senate Honors “American Red Cross Month”

The Senate today (February 24) adopted a Resolution introduced by Senator Randy Vulakovich designating March 2015 as “American Red Cross Month” in Pennsylvania.

“This resolution recognizes the important role this great organization plays in communities across Pennsylvania. In fact, the Red Cross responded to approximately 3,000 disasters and provided assistance to families impacted by disaster in all 67 counties in the Commonwealth in 2014,” said Senator Vulakovich, who chairs the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Senator Vulakovich’s resolution salutes the 133-year-long history and exemplary service of the American Red Cross and its 44 Pennsylvania chapters.

“The American Red Cross has been at the forefront of helping Americans prevent, prepare for and respond to large and small disasters, and just as families and communities depend on the Red Cross in times of need, the Red Cross depends on the support of the American people to help sustain the foundation,” Senator Vulakovich said. “As we mark and commemorate American Red Cross Month in Pennsylvania, it is important that we recognize all the people who give their time and resources to aid their friends and neighbors in time of need.”
